Foundation Phase: Nursery and Reception

To All Parents/Carers,
Thank you all for your continued support this term. We have thoroughly enjoyed teaching your children. We all hope you enjoy your Christmas, please keep safe and we will see you in the New Year!
I have given new seesaw codes, but current seesaw codes will still work. Attached to the codes you will find 9 activities you can do at home from Monday 20th – Wednesday 22nd December. Please use seesaw to share what your children have done.  The activity grid on seesaw will go live on Monday 20th December at 8am where you will be able to add a response to share what your children have done.
Please take care.
Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Foundation Phase: Fine Motor Skills

Please find some information about fine motor skills and how to develop your child’s fine motor skills. Fine motor skills are necessary for performing everyday academic, play, and self-care skills.
Within the classroom, we have fine motor ‘Funky Finger’ activities and we take part in ‘Disco Dough’. Please see attached ‘What is Disco Dough? for more information on this.
We would like to encourage ‘Funky Finger’ activities to take place at home. We have found daily short burst ‘Funky Finger’ time has a positive impact on children’s fine motor skills.
At home, we would like you to pick a different activity a day to complete for 5 minutes, where possible. These activities do not need to include lots of preparation and some activities you can incorporate into your normal daily activities. There are lots more on the internet if you wish to look for more.
Happy Finger Moving!
Many Thanks,
Miss Davies, Mrs Harris and Mrs Williams.

Foundation Phase: Celebrating Harvest Time

This afternoon Class 1 and Nursery/Reception came together in the hall to share songs to celebrate harvest.
We watched each other perform. Nursery and Reception sang ‘Farmer Ben’ and ‘Afal, Oren, Banana’. Reception then performed a song called ‘Autumn Leaves’.  We really enjoyed watching Class 1’s performance, it was lovely to be together again.
The videos of Nursery and Reception’s songs will be put on their Seesaw Journal. If you need a new Seesaw code, please email the school [email protected].
Thank you 🙂
