News: Harvest Food bank appeal request

Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Next week we will be celebrating harvest, this is a time of year to give thanks for the food that is harvested and to think about and support others who are struggling to buy food.
Class 3 have been learning about World hunger as part of their class topic ‘Fabulous Food/ Food for thought’. They have all said they want to help make a difference in our local community. One of the suggestions is to tie in with harvest and ask for pupils from Ysgol Brynffordd to donate food to our local food bank, at St Peter’s church in Holywell.

We will be having a collection and would be very grateful for any food donations that can be offered to be brought to school on Tuesday 19th October. There will be two boxes: one at each entrance of school where donations can be left. This will be the only day for donations as the food bank will be collecting on Tuesday morning. However, if you miss this date and would still like to help, St Peter’s church is open on Wednesdays 14:00 – 15:30.

Please find attached a poster listing items requested by the food bank. They also specifically need: – tinned tuna – tinned meatballs – breakfast cereal – toiletries – spaghetti Bolognese – curry
Thanking you in advance.
Regards,
Mrs Roberts
