Over the next five weeks Ysgol Brynford will be taking part in the ‘Eat Them to Defeat Them’ campaign which encourages children to eat more vegetables. In school, at lunch time, we will have vegetable themed days, giving the children the opportunity to take part in fun, vegetable tasting activities. If your child comes home wearing one of the campaign stickers it means they have tried the vegetables in school.
Please look out for the ‘Eat Them to Defeat Them’ reward chart coming home this week. This offers a fun way to get involved with the campaign at home.
To find out more about this year’s campaign please look at the ‘Prepare for Victory’ document attached.

Hello Class 2, I hope you are all well and had an enjoyable half term holiday.
Just a reminder, tomorrow is Dydd Gwyl Dewi and you are able to come to school wearing traditional costume, something red, white or green, or something that represents Wales to you. Also, sensible footwear/trainers as we will hopefully be spending sometime working outdoors.
I have planned some activities for the day which involves making some Welsh cakes, however, if you have any food intolerances please let me know tomorrow at school. Diolch.
We will also, hopefully, be releasing our Dydd Gwyl Dewi celebration onto Google Classroom.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, I have been busy today sorting out our classroom, it’s all freshly painted, we have a lovely, new floor covering and new doors in our class. It’s all looks super smart and modern.
Take care everyone, Hwyl, From, Mrs Shickell
Hello Class 2, Parents and Carers,
What a busy end to this half term. Well done for all your hard work and for trying so hard with Google Classroom. You have worked brilliantly trying hard to ‘share’ and to ‘hand in’ your work using this. DA IAWN PAWB.
You have some work tasks sent home for you today and also there are some tasks on Google Classroom too. Miss Davies has set a research task for you too. Hope you enjoy working on these activities.
As we return on Dydd Gwyl Dewi, you are able to come to school wearing something red, white or green/ something Wales means to you, or in traditional Welsh costume. We hope to be able to celebrate Dydd Gwyl Dewi in a fun and exciting way.
Have a lovely week away from school and have a good rest, ready to return to school on March 1st.
Take care and stay safe,
From Mrs Shickell and Mrs Greenough.
PLEASE SEE INFORMATION BELOW EXPLAINING WHY SCHOOL IS HAVING TO CLOSE TOMORROW.
The Strategic Regional Command group has just made the recommendation that ALL educational establishments in North Wales should close tomorrow to protect the safety of pupils and staff because of the significant risk to life.
Our position in Flintshire is that all schools – local authority maintained, voluntary aided, voluntary controlled and foundation schools – should follow this direction. I know that will be very frustrating for you but safety has to come first.
