Safer Internet Day 8th February
The theme this year for Safer Internet Day is
All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online
Each year in the UK, Safer Internet Day explores a new issue or theme which is impacting the lives of young people in the UK. For 2022 the Day celebrates young people’s role in creating a safer internet and the ways they are shaping the interactive entertainment spaces they are a part of. The platforms young people use are spaces for connection, community and collaboration, which is why the Day challenges them to foster supportive relationships and respectful communities, whilst equipping them with the skills they need to keep themselves and others safe in these spaces.

Please make a conversation with your child/ren about the games they play and whether they are appropriate for their age. If you are unsure please look out for the age recommendations as these are guidelines based on the content included in the games and are there to keep your child/ren safe.
If you need more information or advice with implementing parental settings on devices etc, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.

Yesterday, Class 3 were fortunate to have coaching with a Dragon Sports coach. They received a session of badminton and a session of Boccia.
In badminton, the children learnt how to grip the racket accurately, use the overhead clear shot, and serve using the forehand and backhand method.

In the afternoon, the children learnt about Boccia and how to play it. They learnt that it is a Paralympic sport which was designed specifically for people with disabilities but can also be played and enjoyed by anyone. The children participated in a Boccia tournament and are keen to play again.

Well done to all pupils for your sensible and enthusiastic behaviour.
Hello Everyone,
Just to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the committee and all attendees at Eco club after school today. Fantastic turn out with some very eager and willing children wanting to help develop our Action Plan. You really are superstars and should be very proud of yourself.
Also, some lovely comments from children who attended for the very first time today – great team work, getting lots of our ideas put into place. Well done to you all.
Thank you, From, Mrs Shickell
