NEWS: Class 2

Hello Class 2, Parents and Carers,
What a busy end to this half term. Well done for all your hard work and for trying so hard with Google Classroom. You have worked brilliantly trying hard to ‘share’ and to ‘hand in’ your work using this. DA IAWN PAWB.
You have some work tasks sent home for you today and also there are some tasks on Google Classroom too. Miss Davies has set a research task for you too. Hope you enjoy working on these activities.
As we return on Dydd Gwyl Dewi, you are able to come to school wearing  something red, white or green/ something Wales means to you,  or in traditional Welsh costume. We hope to be able to celebrate Dydd Gwyl Dewi in a fun and exciting way.
Have a lovely week away from school and have a good rest, ready to return to school on March 1st.
Take care and stay safe,
From Mrs Shickell and Mrs Greenough.

News: URGENT FRIDAY 18TH FEB 2022

PLEASE SEE INFORMATION BELOW EXPLAINING WHY SCHOOL IS HAVING TO CLOSE TOMORROW.

The Strategic Regional Command group has just made the recommendation that ALL educational establishments in North Wales should close tomorrow to protect the safety of pupils and staff because of the significant risk to life.

Our position in Flintshire is that all schools – local authority maintained, voluntary aided, voluntary controlled and foundation schools – should follow this direction.  I know that will be very frustrating for you but safety has to come first.

News: Safer Internet Day Advice and Information

Safer Internet Day 8th February

The theme this year for Safer Internet Day is

All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online

Each year in the UK, Safer Internet Day explores a new issue or theme which is impacting the lives of young people in the UK. For 2022 the Day celebrates young people’s role in creating a safer internet and the ways they are shaping the interactive entertainment spaces they are a part of. The platforms young people use are spaces for connection, community and collaboration, which is why the Day challenges them to foster supportive relationships and respectful communities, whilst equipping them with the skills they need to keep themselves and others safe in these spaces.

Please make a conversation with your child/ren about the games they play and whether they are appropriate for their age. If you are unsure please look out for the age recommendations as these are guidelines based on the content included in the games and are there to keep your child/ren safe.

If you need more information or advice with implementing parental settings on devices etc, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.

Diolch,

Miss Davies

Class 3 News: Badminton and Boccia Coaching

Yesterday, Class 3 were fortunate to have coaching with a Dragon Sports coach. They received a session of badminton and a session of Boccia.
In badminton, the children learnt how to grip the racket accurately, use the overhead clear shot, and serve using the forehand and backhand method.

In the afternoon, the children learnt about Boccia and how to play it. They learnt that it is a Paralympic sport which was designed specifically for people with disabilities but can also be played and enjoyed by anyone. The children participated in a Boccia tournament and are keen to play again.
